Want to share instructions with partners?
Partner signup is short on purpose. Partners sign up with their email, Google, or LinkedIn. The signup form itself can't be changed.
To learn more about a partner, such as their website, audience, or promotion channels, add custom onboarding fields. Partners answer them right after signup, the first time they log in to your partner portal.
Create the onboarding form
Open Custom Onboarding
In Program settings, open General, expand Advanced, and click Create next to Custom Onboarding Fields. If a form already exists, the button says Manage.
Start from a template or from scratch
Choose Use Template to start with a prefilled "Tell Us About Yourself" form, or choose Create from Scratch.
Add your questions
Set the Form Title and Subtitle. Partners see both. Add questions, choose a question type, and turn on Required for questions partners must answer. Drag questions to change their order.
Save the form
Click Create Form. A new form is active right away and appears during onboarding for new partners. To pause it, click Deactivate Form. Click Activate Form to turn it back on. Use Edit Form to change questions later.
Question types
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Short Text | Short answers such as a website URL or social handle. |
| Long Text | Longer answers such as how the partner plans to promote you. |
| Single Choice | One answer from a list you define. |
| Multiple Choice | Several answers from a list you define. |
| Checkbox | A confirmation, for example accepting your program terms. A required checkbox must be checked. |
Single and multiple choice questions need at least two options.
What partners see
After signup, partners see your form the first time they log in, before the standard onboarding steps such as choosing a tracking ID. They can't open the partner dashboard until onboarding is complete. They must answer all required questions.
The form only appears for partners who haven't finished onboarding yet. Partners who completed onboarding before you activated the form don't see it. Partners you invite with Skip Onboarding turned on skip it too. See Inviting New Affiliates.
Review the answers
- Partner profile. Open a partner from Partners and expand Onboarding Responses in the partner details.
- Applications. Under Partners → Applications, answers can appear as columns and be used as filters.
- Before approval. With Private access mode, new partners need your approval before they can promote you. Their answers appear in the application review, so you can decide before approving. Private access mode requires the Growth plan or higher. See Program Access Modes.
