Delete an affiliate program
Deleting an affiliate program is not instant. The owner schedules permanent deletion 14 days out. Until that date the program stays fully usable: tracking, portal, payouts, settings, and billing are unchanged. Only the team owner can schedule or cancel.
This is separate from cancelling your Affonso subscription. Cancelling billing leaves the program and its data in place. If this is your only program, Affonso also stops Stripe billing when the program is actually deleted so you are not charged for an account that no longer exists. If you still have other programs, billing stays active for those.
Before you begin
Make sure you have:
- owner access to the program
- the exact program name, which you type to confirm (
delete Your Program Name)
Steps
Schedule deletion in Danger Zone
Open Settings → Danger Zone. Under Delete Affiliate Program, click Delete affiliate program. Type delete plus your program name and click Schedule deletion.
Affonso emails the owner and shows an amber banner with the deletion date and days remaining. The date is stored in UTC. Scheduling again does not move the date or send a second email.
After you schedule
Team members see the banner and a View Danger Zone link. Only the owner sees Cancel deletion.
Reset Program Data on the same page is a different action and stays available. It does not cancel or replace scheduled deletion.
Cancel the deletion
Click Cancel deletion on the banner or in Danger Zone. Affonso emails the owner that the program will not be deleted. The banner disappears.
Common issues
I am a team member and there is no Cancel deletion button
Cause: Only the owner can schedule or cancel deletion.
Fix: Ask the owner, or have them open Danger Zone.
I scheduled deletion twice and the date did not change
Cause: The first scheduled date is kept.
Fix: Cancel the deletion, then schedule again if you need a new 14-day window.
Billing is cancelled but the program is still here
Cause: Subscription cancel and program deletion are separate.
Fix: Cancel billing from Billing. Delete the program from Danger Zone only if you want the data gone.
