Onboarding creates your affiliate profile for one program. Depending on the brand, it can contain custom application questions followed by your basic profile and promotion setup.
Complete custom questions
Answer the program owner's questions accurately. Brands commonly use these answers to understand your audience, channels, website, and planned promotion methods.
An incomplete required answer prevents submission. If your information changes after applying and the portal does not offer an edit option, contact the program owner.
Complete the promotion step shown to you
The second step depends on the program:
- Affiliate links enabled: choose the tracking ID inserted into your affiliate link.
- Coupon-only with self-service enabled: review or create the coupon used for attribution.
- No additional setup: onboarding completes after your profile information.
If you are asked for a tracking ID
Your tracking ID is inserted into your affiliate link so the program can attribute visitors and customers to you.
Choose a value that is:
- at least four characters,
- made from letters and numbers during initial onboarding,
- suitable for public links,
- easy to recognize and type.
You may later be able to edit the tracking ID from your link's advanced settings. Changing it stops the old tracking ID from working, so update every published link after a change.
Understand partnership status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | The program owner still needs to review your request. Your promotion tools may remain unavailable. |
| Approved | You can use the program's enabled links, coupons, creatives, and reporting features. |
| Rejected | The brand did not approve the partnership. Contact the brand if you need an explanation. |
Affonso supplies the application workflow but does not decide whether a brand approves an affiliate.
Country and payout information
The portal may suggest your country during onboarding. Check that it is correct. Country information later helps the payout form request the correct bank fields and can affect which tax documentation the program requires.
If onboarding sends you back to login
This can happen when:
- your sign-in session expired,
- you opened a portal for a different program,
- the invited email and signed-in email do not match,
- the program was paused or deactivated.
Sign in again from the correct portal. If the loop continues, send the program owner your email address and the portal URL you are using.
