Default tracking parameter vs. enabled parameters

How Affonso handles multiple referral parameters (ref, via, aff, atp) and what "default" means in your settings.

Affonso supports several referral parameter styles — ref, via, aff, atp, and others. In your program settings you choose one as the default and can enable or disable each individually.

What "default" means

The default is the parameter Affonso uses when it generates new affiliate links shown in the portal. It does not disable the other parameters — every enabled parameter still tracks correctly if it appears in an incoming URL.

If you want affiliates to only use a single parameter (e.g. aff), disable the others under Tracking & Coupons → Referral Parameters.

Functional differences

There are none. ref, via, aff, atp all track identically. The choice is cosmetic and lets you match the convention your marketing team or community is used to.
