By design, affiliates cannot reassign their own coupon codes. This prevents code recycling and abuse — once a code is shared publicly, an affiliate could otherwise repeatedly claim it under a new name.
How program owners can change a code
- Open the affiliate's detail page in your dashboard.
- Remove their existing coupon code.
- Either assign a new code manually, or let the affiliate claim a new one from their portal (if self-service coupons are enabled).
Enabling self-service coupons
If you want affiliates to be able to claim their own codes (subject to availability), enable self-service coupons in Tracking & Coupons.
