Webhook
An automated message one system sends to another when an event occurs.
Affiliate platforms can use webhooks to receive payment events or send updates about referrals and commissions. The receiving system then processes the event using its own rules.
Example
A payment provider sends a webhook when a referred customer pays, allowing the affiliate platform to record a commission.
